The 40V max XGT Brushless 7-1/4 in. Metal Cutting Saw with Electric Brake and Chip Collector is a cordless solution for cutting common metal materials. The Makita-built brushless motor delivers up to 2 Times faster cutting performance and up to 160 Cuts per charge in 2-1/2 in. x 2-1/2 ft. x 1/4 in. Steel angle using a 40V max XGT 4 Ah Battery (battery sold separately). It is engineered with Active Feedback-Sensing Technology (AFT), a system that electronically turns off the motor if the rotation of the blade is suddenly forced to a stop. It has a large 2-5/8 in. Cutting capacity that can handle various metal materials including pipe, stud, channel, strut, conduit, angle, square tubing, sheet metal, and more. It also has a built-in electric brake for maximum productivity.

Convenience features include an L.E.D. light that operates with pre-glow and afterglow to illuminate the workspace, a rubberized soft grip handle, and a trigger switch with a (2)-stage lock off that requires the user to press a button on the handle with their thumb before the tool can be activated. It has a side-load battery that provides a more compact design that is only 13-3/4 in. Long for easier use in constrained spaces. XGT is a system of equipment, tools, batteries, and chargers utilizing 40V max Lithium-Ion batteries. XGT is engineered to deliver high power to take on high-demand applications, allowing users to completely transition to a cordless job site.
